More excitement: The FIS World Cup continues with the races in Canmore, Canada this week. The first race is the individual start freestyle 10-k for women and 15-k for men on Thursday. The 15 and 30-k classic mass-start races is on Saturday and the classic two-person sprint relay is on Sunday
The individual freestyle race:
The ultimate test of endurance and technique. As hard as you can go from the first pole plants. No one to hang on to as in the mass-start races (unless you get passed by a faster skier), you’re on your own!
The classic mass-start race:
Very tough course with long steep climbs. Someone might want to try to break away early to avoid the mass-sprint we saw in Saturday’s pursuit races at Sovereign Lakes. Beckie and Sara have shown what they can do, which North American men can step it up?
The classic two-person sprint relay:
Will a North American team for the first time ever make the podium in this event?
