The second annual Therapeutic Associates Youth XC Ski Festival, March 25th and 26th, will take place on the Mt. Bachelor trail system near Bend, OR and will include a Skiathlon, Sprint, Terrain Park Demos, Awards, and Raffles for cross country skiers age 13 and under.
Races are scheduled as follows:
· Saturday, March 25, 2006 Skiathlon (Classic & Skate) 11:30 am
· Sunday, March 26, 2006 Skate Sprint! 11:30am
Saturday’s Skiathlon will present a fun challenge for youth skiers. In this Skiathlon skiers:
· Start on Classic skis
· Ski a 1or 1.5km loop based on age.
· Switch to Skate skis in the stadium.
· Ski another loop and into the finish.
On Sunday, skiers will participate in a skate sprint. Distances are based on age. Individual starts will be followed by elimination heats. So all skiers will race 2 or more 500 meter or 1km loops.
Before and after each event, participants can head to a special area by the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center and try out a pair of Fischer Jib Skate skis- Twin Tipped Cross Country skis made for playing hard! Parent supervision is required, and helmets are advised. A fun contest will be held at the Jib Skate demo area after the conclusion of Saturday’s Skiathlon. Prizes awarded for best tricks!
Registration forms are available at www.mbsef.org Click on events and scroll down to March. Day of Race Registration/Packet Pick-Up is from 10:30 am to 11am in event stadium. (Follow NM06 signs to very West end of West Village parking lot.)
This event begins and ends at a special stadium set up in the West end of the parking lot- you will miss the events (except jib skate demos) if you are at the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center.

Early Fee
Ages 13 & under- 1 race $ 10.00
2 races $ 15.00
Late Fee
All entries after 5pm 3/22/06 will require a $5 late fee.
Trail Pass Fee
Youth pass: 1 day= $ 6 2 day= $11
*For those not already holding a season or 10 day pass.
No registrations will be taken at MBSEF
after 5 p.m. Wed. 3/22/06
All registrations after Wednesday must be taken to the mountain on the day of the race and a $5 late fee will apply.
