Sweden's Anders Soedergren achieved the first World Cup win of his career at age 28 when he won today's infamous Holmenkollen 50km in Oslo, Norway. Soedergren, who was fifth in the same race last season and second in the Oberstdorf pursuit this past December, finished today's grueling course in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 42.5 seconds; 23 seconds ahead of second-placed Giorgio Di Centa of Italy. An astounding performance from Tom Reichelt, a relative unknown at the World Cup level, gave the German third place and his first-ever World Cup podium.
