Ann Eli Tafjord was the winner of the Norwegian women’s 30-kilometer freestyle championship on Saturday.

Tafjord was 1.03 minutes ahead of veteran Hilde G. Pedersen. Pedersen showed that her recent 10th place in the Holmenkollen World Cup 30-kilometer wasn’t a fluke. She was the best Norwegian in that race.

Kristin Steira was third, 30 seconds behind Hilde and Kristin Murer Stemland was fourth only 1.5 seconds behind Steira. Bjornas was fifth.

The top five skiers were in a class by themselves since five minutes (!) separated fifth and sixth place.

Marit Bjorgen did not race.
