The Fossavatn Ski Marathon takes place in Isafjordur, Iceland, on April 29 with at least
three US skiers on the starting line.

Two of them, Mary Beth Tuttle and David Christopherson, come from the The Finn Sisu Vakava team in St. Paul, Minnesota. They were the overall winners of the Skinnyski Minnesota Series and were rewarded with a trip to Iceland’s biggest cross-country ski event.

Vermont skier Linda Ramsdell (Craftsbury Nordic) returns to Iceland hoping for a third successive victory in the women’s 50 km.

Amongst other participants are international long-distance stars such as Jorgen Aukland of Norway (winner of this season’s Marcialonga in Italy) and compatriot Havard Skorstad, winner of the Holmenkollen Skimaraton in Norway earlier this winter.

The main distance in the Fossavatn Ski Marathon is 50 km classic, with an option of three shorter distances, 20, 10 and 7 km, also in classic. For further information see www.fossavatn.com
