I found that out the first time I did the American Birkebeiner, the big cross country ski marathon in Hayward, Wis. I was at the starting area waiting for the gun to go off when a skier standing near me pulled down the front of his tights and starting relieving himself, apparently unconcerned about the spectators surrounding us.
