The men raced pursuit while the women raced duathlon.

The men’s race became a battle between Eldar Rnning, Petter Northug, Jens Arne Svartedal and Tor Arne Hetland. Hetland won the first part and had a lead on the other three for most of the race but the trio caught him on the last lap of five laps.

– I knew they were coming and was just waiting for that to happen, said Hetland.

– I was happy to be in the lead group all the way to the end. These boys are in shape said Northug after the race.

– It felt good to beat Northug, said Ronning

Ella strongest

Ella Gjmle won the women’s duathlon. She was 13 seconds ahead of Kine Beate BjrnÃ¥s and 14 ahead of Kristin Stemland.

– Winning always feels good and it confirms that I have done lots of things right, says Gjomle.

Kristin Stemland also got confirmed that she is in shape and was happy.

– I’m not particularly technically good on rollerskis, especially not in classic and was behind after the first part, but skated well, said Stemland.
