. It is not very steep or very long, but when I added the backpack from hell and ran up this little hill my perspective changed altogether. Honestly, it was a new kind of discomfort. It wasn't just the screaming leg muscles, but my chest felt like it was going to explode. I got to the top in 1:50, collapsed for 5 minutes or so, and then had to walk back down for interval #2. Interval # 2 was also right around 1:50, and since I survived that one as well, I decided I would go hit the MWSC weight room for some max strength. Here is the crazy part. 18 minutes after my last interval was over I found myself laying on the floor of our weight room unable to do anything let alone lift weights. I took my pulse, 18 MINUTES AFTER the last interval, and my heart rate was still 125-130 beats per minute! </p>
<p><b>Did your wife do training as well, or did she just have to show up and hang on?</b></p>
<p>The one who is carried can weigh a minimum of 107 lbs. Tess is damn near that, so for the most part she did not have to do much in preparation. With that said, it seems like it would be damn hard to hold on upside down while someone runs as fast as they can over log obstacles, and through muddy water. Tess has sore thighs and ribs after this weekend. She is an awesome partner! </p>
