MWSC Coach John Farra Wins North American Wife-Carrying Contest 09 October 2006
When I think of a wife-carrying contest, I picture “World's Strongest Man”-type guys. But you managed to win the one-minute race by ten seconds. That's a big margin. I guess you need a combination of speed and power?
I will admit that all of my competitors appeared to be bigger than me, and it was a bit intimidating, but the course requires a good speed/power/agility combination not just strength. While we did not take this too overly serious beforehand, that all changed when they said GO. Once a competitor, always a competitor I guess.
