What are top skiers incomes? Switch from cross-country skiing to basketball, hockey, football or tennis if your main goal is to get rich. But also note that Ulvang, Dahlie and a few others retired skiers have done pretty well financially.
Here are net income numbers, net fortune (money in bank accounts) and how much tax they paid last season for some Norwegian elite skiers as well as for a few retired ones. Norwegian tax laws make it easy for everyone to check anyone’s finances.
There are some “grey†numbers here since it’s possible for Norwegian athletes to bank income and not pay tax on it before they retire from the sport. They can also choose to pull out some money and only pay tax on what they take out. The income for some of the athletes below can in other words be considerably higher (i.e Bjorgen).
