Top Norwegians Think Cheaper Sport Goggles Are Better
Many Norwegian skiers are switching from expensive sport goggles to a cheaper but better Swedish brand. — Choosing cheap, but good goggles is sending a (important) signal to young skiers as well, says national team skier Tord Asle Gjerdalen
, which Tord Asle Gjerdalen raced for last season.

Others saw the potential in the goggles when Gjerdalen made the Olympic team.

– It’s right that it started with us. We used these goggles, had our own names on them and thought we looked supercool, says Gjerdalen

He adds:
– The fact is that they are making very good goggles, which at the same time are very reasonably priced. I hoped to be able to continue to use these goggles when I made the national team.

Getting in too Ski pool Norway this spring made the road to more teams short.
Many on the national team have switched, the entire junior national team, Team Manpower, Team Bolig and Team Hovden are now using goggles from the Swedish manufacturer.

– We believe that we are delivering a good product to a reasonable price, says Einar Forfang at Leta AS, the Norwegian importer.

He believes that it‘s no reason that sport goggles should cost over 1000 kroner (US $140)
For only one pair. Prestige gives you 4 pair of goggles (clear, contrast and two with sun glasses) in a package for roughly 1500 kroner (US 220).

– The price is important for me. I feel it gives a signal to younger skiers that it isn’t always the most expensive that are the best, says Gjerdalen.

Jens Arne Svartedal has three criteria for good goggles: good fit, shouldn’t fog up and be free of optical errors. These goggles fill my criteria and I’m happy so far says Jens Arne Svartedal.
