Norwegian national team skier Ella Gjmle was sick at the start of Tour de Ski, but followed all the races on TV and wrote articles for Norwegian Langrenn.com after each race. She believes the Tour will be even more important next year since next season is without a major championship.

– I have followed the entire Tour from the couch at our cabin. It has been very exciting and given cross country skiing something new, that we have desired for a long time. But the concept isn’t finalized yet, it has to be further developed next season

– I’m happy that they have decided that the Tour will continue next season. It’s a championship-free season, so it will be even more important for every skier. It’s good to have an extra goal to shoot for when you are training toward a new season.

– The World Cup is there regardless, so adding Tour de Ski next season is unconditionally positive. I believe that more skiers will train more specifically toward Tour de Ski next year than what was the case this season. Tour de Ski might very well become all skiers main goal next year.

– I have noted that many of the racers want to remove the final climbing stage. From my couch I support that. The last climb didn’t look like ski racing.
