This past Saturday was the Lake Placid Loppet, contested at the Olympic Sports Complex Cross Country Ski Trails at Mt Hoevenberg ski center. The Lake Placid Loppet is part of the American Ski Marathon Series.

Duncan Douglas outskied a trio of big names to take the victory. He was followed by Eli Enman, David Chamberlain, and Justin Freeman.

The women's 50K free technique race only had four finishers, but it was still an impressive podium. Lindley Van Der Linde was first, Dorcas Wonsavage second and Margaret Maher third.

The Loppet course is notorious for being one of the hardest ski marathon courses in the US.
