In Wednesday's World Cup sprint race in Changchun, China, Kikkan Randall was 4th in qualifying and ended up 7th overall.

After great showings in the qualifying round, the US Team men were not able to advance beyond the first round in the elimination heats.

In qualifying, Andy Newell finished eighth, while Torin Koos finished 12th. But both were eliminated in their quarterfinal heat. Newell just barely missed moving on, finishing third in his heat. He ended up 13th, while Koos was 22nd.

Many World Championship competitors chose to skip these races in China in order to focus on next week's World Championships in Sapporo, Japan.
