Soldier Hollow — The US Junior Nationals begin Monday March 5th in Midway, Utah at the $10 million dollar Soldier Hollow Nordic competition facility. Athletes and teams arrived this week in preparation for the premier event for US junior skiers across the country. Racers will compete for individual titles and division team championships. The team that amasses the best overall results over the four days of racing will be awarded the Alaska Cup.

A recent storm dumped close to a foot of new snow at Soldier Hollow last week, which was perfectly timed for these races. The trails are in superb condition and were opened Saturday for training. Official training doesn’t start until Sunday, but race organizers prepared the trails a day early.

Daytime highs have been reaching the mid/upper 30’s while nighttime lows have been in the high teens. Sun is predicted through Tuesday with the a low pressure system moving in long about Wednesday. Pray for good weather and ski conditions!

Admission to the events are free.
