U-23 Pursuit Races: Gold for Russia and Switzerland, Mannix Takes 9th

Ioulia Tchekaleva of Russia won the women’s 15 kilometer pursuit at the U-23 Worlds in Italy on Saturday. Caroline Hugue of France was second, 7 seconds out. Ivana Janeckova (CZE) captured the bronze, 8 seconds from silver.

The top North American was Tazlina Mannix, USA in 9th place.

Other North Americans: Morgan Arritola, USA 23, Amanda Ammar, Canada 29, Lindsey Williams, USA 35, Morgan Smyth, USA 36, Periane Jones, Canada 40.

The men’s 30 kilometer pursuit was won by Dario Cologna of Switzerland, 2 seconds ahead of Stanislav Volzhentsev of Russia. Curdin Per l of Switzerland was third.

The top North American was Canadian Brent McMurtry in 24th place.
