Swiss skiers claimed the gold in both the men’s and women’s races at the U-23 Worlds in Italy on Thursday. Tazlina Mannix, USA was 14.
Silvana Bucher of Switzerland won the women’s 10 kilometer individual start freestyle race at the U-23 Worlds on Thursday. She was 19 seconds ahead of the silver medalist Sofia Blechur of Sweden. Marina Piller of Italy was third.
Top North American was Tazlina Mannix (USA) in 14th place. Amanda Ammar, Canada was 18th and Morgan Arritola, USA was 25th.

Dario Coloogna of Switzerland won the men’s 15- kilometer individual start freestyle race by a LANDSLIDE on Thursday. He was 47 seconds ahead of the silver medalist Ilia Chernouso of Russia. Nobu Naruse of Japan was 3rd, 2 seconds from second place.
Top North Americans were Canadians David Neighbor in 18th place and Brent McMurtry in 21st place. Michael Sinnott was the top US skier in 46th place.
