Mathias Fredriksson was kicked off the Swedish team last week.

The reason is that the Swedish ski federation in May gave Mathias Fredriksson permission to organize his own training, writes newspaper Atonbladet.

– We tried to meet halfway. We thought it would be motivating with an individual program for someone his age and with his family situation, says head coach Bengt Stattin.

But the special treatment lead to protests from other skiers on the team.

The federation then wanted to write a contact preventing Fredriksson from staying at the same location at camps after hearing the other skiers on the team’s opinions.

– He has as I have understood behaved arrogant toward his teammates and that has caused enormous anger. Many are jealous of him, says Bengt Stattin.

Anders Sœdergren says however that he is welcome at workouts.

Mathias Fredriksson’s deal has however been cancelled and he has been kicked off the Swedish team. He is therefore no longer receiving any financial support from the national team.
