In 2.5 weeks, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup family will meet for the second time this season in the Norwegian village of Beitostoelen at the foot of the Jothunheimer Mountains. Beitostoelen has invested a lot of money – a total of 1.5 million Norwegian Crowns – since its last FIS World Cup events in November 2005. Projects include a rebuilt stadium building, more space for waxing, and redesigned ski tracks. Finally, a 2.5 km loop was made that can be completely prepared with artificial snow.

At the moment, 2 km are ready — with artificial snow – and colder weather is expected in the next several days.

The Organizing Committee in Beitostoelen is also preparing for the Norwegian national opening in Cross-Country and Biathlon planned on November 16th-18th. 13 hours of live coverage by NRK (the Norwegian national television station) are scheduled for this event.

The 2nd Viessmann FIS World Cup Cross-Country races of the season are set for 24th-25th November, featuring individual start races in the free technique and relay competitions.
