Start Your Snow Dance for the Yellowstone Ski Festival

In an effort to keep everyone current, we will do our best to update the front page of the event website (www.yellowstoneskifestival.com) regularly over the next 7 – 10 days.

Here is the situation as of 3:00 PM, Monday, November 12: There is no significant snow on the Rendezvous Ski Trails. There is about 1 1/2″ of snow on the plateau – not enough snow to groom and not enough to really ski on. The weather forecast for West Yellowstone (zip code 59758) reads as follows:

Tonight: Blustery with snow showers. Low 28F. Winds SW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Tomorrow: Windy. Snow during the morning will transition to snow showers during the afternoon. High near 35F. Winds WSW at 20 to 30 mph. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Tomorrow night: Snow showers will become more widely scattered later on. Low 14F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 40%. Snowfall around one inch.

Wednesday: Sun and a few passing clouds. High 34F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Mix of rain and snow showers. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 20s.

Friday: Mix of rain and snow showers. Highs in the upper 30s and lows in the mid 20s.

We will do what we can to keep our website up to date. Please keep in mind that we only need about 4 inches of snow to start grooming and that rarely a year goes by when we aren't lacking in snow a few days before the Ski Festival starts. Think snow!
