NYSEF Season Opener

The New York Ski Education Foundation (NYSEF) got their racing season started in Lake Placid, NY this past Saturday. In the 5km freestyle race Charlie Bencze (Tupper Lake) and Heather Mooney (Vermont Academy) won the J2 class. All other racers did a 10km freestyle with Alexa Turzian (Middlebury College/USST) and Ben Knowles (St. Lawrence University) brining home the overall wins.

In the men's race Tim Reynolds and Patrick Johnson of Middlebury College skied to second and third respectively. With the exception of Clarkson University's Matt Delaney in 7th the top 18 spots were filled with Saint Lawrence University and Middlebury College skiers.

In the women's race Middlebury College showed their early season form by capturing the top six positions. Following Tursian, Cassidy Edwards and Robyn Anderson finished second and third respectively.
