Dartmouth Wins Again at Williams Carnival

WILLIAMSTOWN — Dartmouth earned its fourth carnival victory of the season Saturday in the final day of racing at the Williams Carnival.

Nordic skiers led the way for Dartmouth Saturday at Prospect Mountain, earning wins in both the men’s and women’s sprint relay events. In the men’s race, the Big Green team of Patrick O’Brien, Nils Koons, and Dakota Blackhorse-Von Jess took top honors in the 3 x 3 x 1.5 kilometer classic relay. Middlebury’s team of Tim Reynolds, Matthew Johnson, and Patrick Johnson finished second, and the University of New Hampshire squad of Shane MacDowell, Rody Lageson, and Dylan McGuffin took third. Dartmouth men finished with 94 points, ahead of the University of New Hampshire (87 points), and Middlebury (80 points).

On the women’s side, it was Dartmouth’s Susan Dunklee, Hannah Dreissigacker, and Elsa Sargent who took victory by a substantial margin. The University of New Hampshire took second with its team of Marlijne Cook, Natasha Kullas, and Sarah Wright. Middlebury’s Sophie McClelland, Cassidy Edwards, and Robyn Anderson took third. Dartmouth women earned 94 points Saturday. The University of New Hampshire earned 87, and Middlebury earned 80.

Racing resumes February 22-23 at the Eastern Championships, hosted by Middlebury College.
