Kuzzy and Camenisch win Overall SuperTour Sprint Titles

Leading the overall SuperTour Sprint standings after the final sprint competitions of the season in Madison, Garrott Kuzzy (CXC) and Karin Camenisch (Rossignol) have won the overall sprint titles, earning $3,000 each for their victories.

This was the third overall SuperTour sprint victory for Karin Camenisch, now a Swiss World Cup skier. She also won the Overall SuperTour title in 2005, and has seven SuperTour victories to her name. Camenisch edged Rossignol teammate Martina Stursova by five points in the final sprint rankings. Lindsay Williams was third with 176 points.

This was the first overall SuperTour Sprint title for Garrott Kuzzy, who earned his third career SuperTour victory in Madison last weekend. Kuzzy's CXC teammate Brian Gregg took second, scoring 128 points to Kuzzy's 143. US Ski Team sprint start Andy Newell was third, eight points in back of Gregg. Kuzzy has developped into one of the up-and-coming sprinters in the country. In addition to the SuperTour Sprint title, Kuzzy took 9th place in the World Cup freestyle sprint in Canmore. He is also leading the overall SuperTour standings.
