CXC JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
CXC Junior Development Program is either a 12-month year round or a 3 month summer commitment to initiate a logical progression toward goals in Nordic ski training and ski racing.

The two key components of coaching for junior progression that are presented in the four tiers of this program are (1) personal coaching and (2) team camps. The individual plans and goals for this progression are developed jointly by the athlete and the coaches. The team camps are critical for individual contact and assessments of athlete progression. The theory of team camps is to bring athletes, their club/HS coaches and regional and national staff together for training, education and team building. Both components are essential for individual progression and athletic advancement.

The CXC coaching and administrative staff has developed four different tiers of junior development programs for junior progression in the Central Division. The four tiers address the varied needs of juniors and their coaches.

The two tiers without individual CXC coaching (Tiers 3 and 4) are designed for athletes already training year round with continuous coaching.
