It's official! West Yellowstone will be hosting two SuperTour races this weekend. The Classic race is scheduled to start at 9am on Friday and the Freestyle race is scheduled to start at noon on Saturday. The race secretary will be available at the Snow Desk at the Holiday Inn Thursday from 11am-1pm and on Friday from noon-2pm. The classic race registration closes on Thursday at 1:00pm and the freestyle race closes at 2:00pm of Friday. Online registration will be available until then.

It is important to the Yellowstone Ski Festival to maintain multiple use on the groomed trails. Therefore only portions of the trails will be closed for a few hours on race days. Please continue to enjoy the skiing on the South Plateau. Shuttle service will continue through the weekend. Meet the vans where Iris St turns into the S. Plateau every hour on the hour and on the half from 8-4ish.

The class races will be an out and back format, with the course dropping down significantly over the first half before a U-turn brings the races back up the long rolling climb.

The SuperTour Freestyle sprint scheduled for Tuesday in Bozeman, is currently questionable – the official report:

We are narrowing our choices for a race venue. Lindley Park will not be viable. Bohart has no snow. We will work tomorrow at Hyalite Reservoir as a workable option. There are a few inches of snow at Hyalite. We will try to groom an area where we think we can host the race. We will update the website with more specific information tomorrow evening.

A final decision on whether or not we will have the race and race specifics will be posted on the website on Saturday, November 29th.

While there has been no new snow in West Yellowstone, skiing remains excellent, and conditions for the races should be very good.
