Josh Dalley Named Head Coach of Durango Nordic Ski CLub

Josh Dalley, 26 years old, has been hired as the new Head Coach for Durango Nordic Ski Club in Durango, Colorado. Dalley grew up in the northeastern part of Vermont. He attended high school at Burke Mountain Academy, where he was the captain of their ski team his junior and senior years in school. Dalley is a 2005 Graduate of Middlebury College with a degree in Physics and he was the captain of the ski team his senior year in 2004-2005.

The last three years Dalley has worked in Cleveland, Ohio as an executive in a manufacturing company. During his time in Cleveland, Dalley has volunteered his winter weekends as head Junior Development Coach for Ohio Nordic's youth skier program, Hilltoppers XC. They started with 12 skiers in 2006 and last winter had over 50 participants in ages ranging from 4 to 17.

Dalley is a competitor himself. In 2008 he raced in the American Birkebeiner and the Boston Marathon. Dalley also competes in Sprint Triathlons and in 2007 he started racing team 24 hour Adventure Races.

Dalley started his duties with Durango Nordic Ski Club on October 13, 2008. He said, “Living in Durango and working with DNSC is amazing. There is such a tight and friendly community here in this iconic western town. People who live in Durango are always looking for ways to help each other. I instantly felt at home in Durango! The Durango community aspect has definitely rubbed off on the athletes of DNSC. They are incredible athletes and show true dedication to their sport. Now just let it snow!”
