While snow was the Achilles heal of organizers last week in Western Canada an aggressive weather system from the north has dumped more than 30 cm of snow on Silver Star Mountain over the past two days. While Friday conditions remained mild, Enviroment Canada forecasts a dramatic turn to colder weather starting Saturday. With forecasts now in the mid -20's by Saturday evening and -30's on Sunday organizers at Sovereign Lake are again forced to scramble with contingency plans for Saturday.

The start time for the interval start classic race on Saturday night has been moved up to a 5:00 pm start. A final review of the temperature and race conditions will be made by the Jury at 2:30 pm. The revised schedule as of Friday, Dec 12 is as follows:

Dec 13, 2008

3:00 pm – coaches meeting with Jury in Race Office

3:30 pm – courses open for inspection

3:30 – 4:30 pm – Bib Pickup, Race Office
