Sovereign Lakes, British Columbia – George Grey led a trio of Canadians to the top of the podium in the 15km freestyle individual start Nor-Am.

Grey skied to a convincing 25 second victory over Graham Nishikawa (CAN. Grey powered away in the second of three laps, extending his lead from 4 seconds after the first 5-kilometer loop to 26 seconds at the 10km point. Nishikawa held his position throughout the race, as did third place finisher Brent McMurtry (CAN). McMurtry also finished third in Saturday's sprint where Grey was fifth.

Grey, who is competing in his ninth season on Canada’s senior team, was using the race as a final tune-up before joining his teammates on the World Cup in Davos, Switzerland next weekend.

Leif Zimmerman (USST/BSF) was the top American finisher in 4th place, +49.3, edging young Canadian and sprint winner Alex Harvey by .3 seconds.

Chris Butler (CAN) was 6th, 3.8 seconds behind Harvey. James Southam (APUNSC/Atomic) took 8th place, less than 3 seconds ahead of Garrott Kuzzy (CXC/USST) who bounced back from a disappointing sprint, in which he failed to advance to the heats.

Andrey Golovko (Saab Salomon Factory Team) finished 9th and Jeff Ellis (APUNSC/CAN) rounded out the top 10.

This race counted as a USSA National Ranking List event in place of the canceled Soldier Hollow SuperTour events.
