Nordic Skiers Dominate Bend Pole, Pedal, Paddle

The results are out, and Nordic skiers dominated the 33rd annual Pole, Pedal, Paddle in Bend, Oregon.  The fastest posted time of 1:41.58 was from men’s pairs team Eric Martin and Paul Parsons, two high school Nordic coaches.  The fastest  Elite Male was XC Oregon skier Marshall Greene, winning his fourth consecutive PPP in 1:43.29. XC Oregon skier Zach Violett finished 3rd and Torin Koos (USST), in his first PPP, took home a fourth place finish.  Brayton Osgood (XC Oregon) was 5th, Lars Flora (APUNSC), 7th, Colin Mahood (XC Oregon), 8th, and Jason Adams,(XC Oregon), 10th.

Greene won by a wide margin, besting Andrew Boone by 3:21.  Violett, who was second to Green last year, was 5:27 back in 3rd.

On the Women’s side, XC Oregon athlete Sarah Max took home the first place title– for the second year, finishing in 2:02.33.  Finishing less than a minute behind Max was two-time winner Muffy Roy (also a High school nordic coach), and in the three spot, Roy’s daughter Zoe, a University of Utah nordic skier, less than 30 seconds behind her mom, for her first elite females attempt. XC Oregon skier Mary Wellington, finished less than two minutes behind Roy to finish 4th.
