John Aalberg (49) has been named the new Director of Sports of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011. Aalberg is currently both director of sports for the Nordic disciplines (Cross-Country, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined and Biathlon) and Whistler Olympic Park venue’s general manager for the Olympic Winter Games Vancouver 2010 as well as a consultant for the Olympics in Sochi in 2014.
The Norway-born Aalberg raced in both the 1992 Albertville Olympics, and the 1994 Lillehamar Olympics for the United States.
