2010 Tour De Meissner CLASSIC SKI RACE AND TOUR SATURDAY, MARCH 6TH AT VIRGINIA MEISSNER SNOPARK 13 miles west of BEND, OR off century drive
The Tour De Meissner Classic Ski Race and Tour offers something for all ages and abilities. Racing participants can choose to signup for the 22k or 14k classic race, and the casual Tour participants, can choose from four distances (22k, 14k, 10k, and 5k) to tour some of the best trails at Virginia Meissner SnoPark at a noncompetitive pace. To encourage families and novice skiers the 5k tour will be mostly flat terrain and lots of fun with a midway hot chocolate and snack station.
The 22k race starts at 9:30, the 14k race starts at 9:35 and Tour Participants start between 9:45 –
10:30.
Aid stations will be placed along the course and coffee and hot chocolate will be offered by Thump Coffee at the staging area. Beer, brauts, and kid appropriate beverages will be available at the staging area after your Tour or Race. Food and Beverage tickets are available for purchase.
Parking is limited at the Meissner Snopark. We encourage participants to carpool from Bend. Additional parking will be available at the Swampy Lake SnoPark with shuttle service to and from the Meissner parking lot. Participants can also choose to ski down Tangent Loop from the Swampy Snopark (adjacent to Century Drive) to the Meissner staging area but must do this before 9am. Bib pickup is on the morning of the Race/Tour from 8:15 – 9am for race participants and by 9:45am for Tour Participants. Day of Race/Tour Registration closes at 9am.
