BNS Announces Summer Ski Selection, New Stone Grinding Menu, and New Zealand Ski Camp

Ski Selection begins June 1

BNS once again begins hand-selecting skis for customers in June, 2010 and is now taking orders for fall delivery.  Using the unique knowledge and experience gained working with athletes, testing skis and working ski service at World Cups and Olympics, Zach Caldwell and Nathan Schultz lead the ski selection process for BNS each year.  Through the painstaking process of evaluating every pair of skis by hand, Schultz and Caldwell pick the highest quality skis and match specific characteristics to skiers’ needs.

Caldwell commented, “Whether we’re picking skis for Kris Freeman, a High School racer, or a new skier hoping to finish the Birkie, the process is basically the same.  First, we identify quality, then we look at fit for the skier’s weight, ability and style, and finally, we match the characteristics of the ski for what our client is searching for: a wet ski, soft snow ski, all-around cold ski, etc.”

Team pricing is available on hand-selected skis.  Please contact BNS for details on team orders.

BNS recently published overviews of the 2010-2011 Fischer and Madshus skis that are available at bouldernordic.com.

New Stone Grinding Menu Incorporates Olympic Development Project Grinds

Zach Caldwell spent three years leading up to the Vancouver Games testing structures and skis for the US Ski Team.  The results of that development are now available to the public and BNS has added some of these new structures to its core stone grinding menu.  BNS simplified the new grind menu into three tiers: simple (3 grinds each skate/classic), expanded (15 grinds) and the full detailed menu.  The simple grind menu recommends grinds based on how many pairs the skier has available while the expanded menu offers a wider selection for those wanting more grinds for specific conditions.
