Changes in Altitude Ski-A-Thon and Après Ski Beach Party & Auction
On Saturday, Jan. 24, the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program will host the first annual “Changes in Altitude” Ski-A-Thon and Après Ski Beach Party & Auction at beautiful Waterville Valley Resort. This inaugural event is the nonprofit organization’s major fundraiser event of 2015. Funds raised will support the Adaptive Program’s efforts to provide athletic activities for persons with cognitive and physical disabilities.
The Ski-A-Thon will be held at Waterville Valley Ski Resort on Jan. 24. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the base lodge area and the Ski-A-thon kicks off at 9 a.m. Participants are required to raise a minimum of $100 in sponsorships if they already have a ski pass, or $150 if they require a pass for the day. Participating skiers and snowboarders will be provided with all day express lift privileges, souvenir Ski-A-Thon pins and race bibs, lunch and refreshments. Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories at the Après Ski Beach Party.
The Après Ski Beach Party & Auction begins at 5 p.m. at the Waterville Valley Resort Conference Center. Admission is $50 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. The evening will feature a “Find Your Beach” theme with a fabulous “Jimmy” buffet, beach music, hula contests and more! The dress code is tropical.
The main event of the evening will be a live and silent auction. Guests can bid on some spectacular auction items with all of the proceeds going to fund the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program.
