The next day, Monday, July 24, a Best Ball Golf Tournament Fundraiser will be held at the Sugarbush Golf Course in Warren, Vt.

More details on the App Gap below. Click here to register.

When: Sunday, July 23rd 2017

What: Dual technique Rollerski Race/Challenge. Uphill event 5km for women, 7km for men. **If any competitor is limited by equipment or preference they may classic the entire race.

Where: Course follows Route 17 as it climbs Appalachian Gap. Parking, Registration and Awards: Mad River Glen.

NENSA and the Central Vermont Co-Op are happy to host the App Gap Challenge after a two year hiatus.  Competitors ski a pursuit format, starting with skate, and transitioning to classic mid course at the parking lot of Mad River Glen, before making the push to the top.  Come and try and break the course record for 100 dollars cash or challenge yourself to a spectacular ski up the eastern slope of the Green Mountains.  Day of Race Registration at Mad River Glen from 8 to 8:30 as space permits.  Online registration closes on July 21st at 5pm.  Course inspection and transition set-up immediately following completed registration. 9:25am and 9:30am start.

The field size will be limited to the first 100 registrants.  Running a safe event is our #1 goal.  For this reason we are limiting all two-way or downward travel on Route 17.  Helmets required.  Further race day instructions will be made available to you after registration.

We kindly ask that all competitors park on the north side of the Mad River Glen parking lot.  As you arrive please Check In, Get your Bib, Finish Bag and set up your classic transition box.  We will then provide transportation (or arranged carpooling) to your respective start.  We ask that you strongly consider warming up on foot and plan on descending to the BBQ and awards via Mad River Glen’s trail network for cooldown.  We will provide transport for your running shoes, clothing and other personal items from the start to the finish.  We will also shuttle your rollerskis back to the parking lot where you can retrieve them near the transition.

FOOD: Your registration fee includes a BBQ lunch at the Base Lodge starting at 11:30am (food and drink will be availble for purchase for spectators).  General Starks Pub will also open for the event and remain open to the public after the event.

AWARDS: Stay tuned to @nensa_nordic and Facebook for updates on Awards.  There is $100 cash on the line for breaking the course records. There will be prizes for all ages.

*we encourage the use of “regular training” not “race” wheels and the organizers have full judgement if they are “too fast” to qualify for an official record and prize money
