Belmont Hill School, an all-boys’ independent school located in Belmont, MA, seeks an assistant coach for its Nordic Ski team for the winter of 2018-2019. The assistant coach will help plan and execute practice for the team, consisting of about twenty boys in grades 7-12. Practice takes place weekdays at the Weston Ski Track in Weston, MA, from 3:15p.m. until 5:15p.m.  The team competes on Wednesdays, either with schools in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire or with local schools at Weston Ski Track. The season extends from November 12, 2018 through February 20, 2019.

The Belmont Hill Nordic team emphasizes the individual development of all levels of skiers, from novice to elite skier. All skiers, from grades 7-12, practice at the same time. Before man-made snow is available at Weston, the team utilizes rollerskiing and on-campus fitness options. Once snow is available, the team practices both freestyle and classic technique, in preparation for a race season that includes both. The season culminates in the Lakes Region championship and the NEPSAC Championship, both held in New Hampshire.
