IBU World Cup, Hochfilzen, Austria Men’s 10 k Sprint

On Friday in Hochfilzen, Austria Norway’s Johannes Thingnes Bø won the 10-kilometer sprint in a time of 24:49.2 minutes. It was Bø’s third win of the season and his third win in succession. While leading the race wire-to-wire, Bø shot clean in prone, and missed one target standing.

France’s Martin Fourcade shot clean to place second (+8.6). Benedikt Doll of Germany, also shooting clean, placed third (+10.2).

Leif Nordgren for the U.S. was the best placed North American in 31st (+1:28.1, 0+1). Also for the U.S., Sean Doherty  was 49th (+1:57.9, Travis Cooper 100th (+3:40.3, 1+2), and Paul Schommer 104th (+4:26.7, 1+2).

Scott Gow was the best placed Canadian in 51st (+2:00.2, 0+1). Also for Canada, Brendan Green was 66th (+2:21.9, 1+1), Nathan Smith was 68th (+2:27.1) while shooting clean, and Christian Gow did not start.

The men’s and women’s pursuits are scheduled for Saturday.
