Can’t Ski? Here are the Top Things You Can Do on Your Trip

Ski resorts are a fantastic way to enjoy a breath of fresh air and most importantly, enjoy your favourite sport. However, if you are unable to ski for some reason or another, such as an injury, how can you make the best of the trip without spoiling it for the other people you are with?

Whether you have a close group of friends or a partner who loves to ski, you may wonder how you are going to spend your days, especially as they recount all the adventures they are planning on having without you.

The mountains are a fantastic place to be in the winter months, whether you are into winter sports or not. So, here are a few tips on how to enjoy a non-ski ski holiday.

Gambling

A lot of winter resorts cater to a large group of gamblers. It is not unheard of for many posh and luxurious hotels to be home to a brick-and-mortar casino. You can get dressed up and play games such as slot games, craps, blackjack and poker.

But if you don’t want the hassle and would rather hang out in your lodge sipping a glass of wine, you can still gamble online. There are many advantages to playing online, including getting your hands on a UK casino bonus.

While brick and mortar casinos do actually welcome you with free food and drinks, nothing quite beats a fat bankroll that could extend gameplay and your chances of striking it lucky.

Entertainment

And if you fancy a break from gambling, many large ski resorts pack a punch when it comes to entertainment. They have bands, singers, magicians, comedians and even hypnotists readily available to entertain you.

You can also enjoy movie nights or game nights. The options are there. We recommend that as soon as you get there, you look up the entertainment schedule at your resort.

Pamper Yourself

Just because you are not skiing down the slopes, it does not mean you cannot have fun. Ski vacations are a great opportunity to relax.

If you are not pampering yourself in a hot tub or enjoying a facial treatment at the spa, you can also enjoy a variety of sports, including indoor swimming, tennis, squash, and bowling.

Some resorts go the extra mile and invite you to go dog sledding with adorable Alaskan huskies sledding you along.

And once you are done, you can still head back to the sauna for some downtime.

Stargazing

You have the perfect opportunity to take in the breathtaking view of the stars at night especially when you are at high altitudes on top of the mountains.

It all depends on where you are holidaying, but if you are heading to countries such as Norway, northern Scotland or Canada, you can enjoy an exceptional light show of the Northern Lights.

Socialise

Ski resorts in Europe often have large central rooms, where lodgers can just sit, relax and socialise. When people are not out on the slopes, they will happily congregate and chat with other skiers having a cup of tea or coffee as they admire the mountain landscape.

Whether you are after some alone time or just want to watch skiers as they slope down, there are numerous ways for you to be part of the action without having to don your skis.

Keep in mind that this is your vacation too and you have spent a lot of money to get to where you are going. Ski resorts know all too well that not everyone is there to ski, so get familiar with what is on offer and most importantly, relax.
