Nakkertok Nordic is a community ski club in Gatineau, Quebec, the Ottawa-Gatineau region with 1800 members. We have been the Canadian National Club Champions for 10 years in a row. Among others we have developed notable skiers to Training Centre and College programs, such as Katherine Stewart-Jones who is in Beijing with the Canadian team, Pierre Grall-Johnson who will represent Canada at the U23 World Champs (17th in 2021), and 2 skiers that are obtaining great success on the Eastern U.S. college circuit, Luke Allan (Dartmouth) and Jasmine Lyons (U New Hampshire). Jasmine is also a member of the Canadian team off to the World Junior Championships. There are many more, other talented athletes in our 250-member race team.
We are looking to hire, two full time enthusiastic individuals, to coach high performance and development athletes (U14 and older) as well as provide support to our younger race program athletes. This is for one new fulltime position and also to fill a season end, vacancy in our coaching staff. We have a successful high performance racing program with 250 athletes, 4 paid full-time coaches, 5 part-time paid coaches, a strong volunteer coach/ admin support structure and excellent facilities, including 3km of snowmaking and 5k of lit trails. We are offering a competitive salary with benefits. Competitive Development certification or equivalent is requested. Bilingualism (French, English) would be an asset. This position starts May 1, 2022. Nakkertok Nordique est à la recherche de deux personnes enthousiastes à temps plein pour entraîner les athlètes de haute performance et de développement (U14 et plus) ainsi que pour offrir du soutien aux athlètes plus jeunes de notre programme de course. Nous avons un programme de course de haute performance réussi avec 250 athlètes, 4 entraîneurs rémunérés à temps plein, 5 entraîneurs rémunérés à temps partiel, une solide structure de soutien bénévole pour les entraîneurs et l’administration et d’excellentes installations, y compris la fabrication de neige. Nous offrons un salaire compétitif avec des avantages sociaux. Une certification en développement compétitif est demandée. Le bilinguisme serait un atout. Ce poste débute le 1er mai 2022.
