With the pandemic behind us, it is now safe to say that the countdown for the 2022 European skiing season is now officially on. As for which ski resorts to visit, you can easily put France on the top of the list.

Not only a flurry of new restaurants and chalets have sprung up, but Eurostar’s direct Saturday ski train has made a welcome return. So irrespective of whether you are longing to master your turns on the slopes or just settle for a lobster lunch in the room, here are some enchanting mountain chalets, straight out of a picture postcard, that are worth putting on your French skiing radar in 2022. All the below chalets offer wholesome family breakfast on seven days with a continental spread on one day, afternoon tea with cake, aperitif with canapes and delicious three course dinner with complimentary wines and coffee on six days in a week.

Tignes

Tignes is known for its world class skiing and accommodation, linked with the adjacent resort of Val D’Isere and the many ultra luxurious chalets it boasts off, complete with high class service, excellent food and wine and superb comfort levels.

 

Chalet Iceberg

First on the list is Chalet Iceberg, located just 200m away from the nearest slope and piste. The rustic chalet sleeps nine in five bedrooms with attached bathrooms and overlooks the lake. Chalet Iceberg is ideal for small families and groups wishing to holiday together.

With a large balcony and panoramic windows, this bright chalet provides views of La Grande Motte. Guests get an opportunity to ski straight from the entrance to the blue run and down to the lifts. The chalet sleeps 10 in five welcoming bed rooms with attached baths, free WiFi and just a 5km walk from the centre of the town.

 

Chalet Les Andes

Reberty 2000

This is literally a paradise for skiers in the heart of the Three Valleys, the largest skiing area in the world located between Val Thorens and Les Menuires. The lovely chalets here lie at 2000m and are just steps away from the slopes.

 

Chalet Neve

For a true ski-in and ski-out experience there is no better chalet than Chalet Neve, which sleeps up to nine guests, with features like hot tubs and a balcony to admire the stunning mountain sunsets towards Val Thorens. The chalet lies next to the famous blue Boyes run.

 

Chalet Sapin
