US Ski and Snowboard Sets Selection Criteria for 2022-23 World Cup and 2023 World Championships

Chris GroverJuly 8, 2022

Dear Cross Country Community,

Now that World Cup and SuperTour calendars for the 2022-23 season are confirmed, we have finalized the 2023 Nordic World Championships selection criterion and the 2022-23 World Cup selection criterion.  Both criteria have been approved by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Sport Committee.

The Nordic World Championships criterion for Planica, SLO 2023 can be found here:

The Cross Country World Cup criterion for 2022-23 can be found here:

https://usskiandsnowboard.org/sport-programs/criteria/cross-country-world-cup-criteria

Both criteria are very similar to past versions.  Please note that the standard for World Cup points ranking (Selection Method 3) in the Nordic World Championships criteria has been tightened from top-50 to top-45 to reflect uncertainty around field strength in the upcoming season.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you might have regarding the criteria.

Sincerely,

Chris Grover
