The Program Director reports to the Executive Director and oversees discipline managers (coaches) to ensure that Fundamentals, Development, Race, Freeride, Snowboard, and Nordic programs thrive. The right person is self-motivated, proficient at time-management, leadership skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of FIS, USSA, and IFSA are a plus.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The Program Director will work with the Fundamental, Development, Race, Freeride, Snowboard, and Nordic program directors to ensure the success of all programs.
- Manage the day-to-day coaching staff and volunteers, gear inventory and distribution, van use schedule, and school absence requests.
- Work with the Board of Directors on scholarship distribution and program growth.
- Writing and sending a weekly newsletter to keep parents, alumni, and friends of the program aware of club news.
- Coordinating with FIS, USSA, IFSA, etc., to set up sanctioned races and competitions.
- Coordinating with volunteers, Grand Targhee Resort staff, and other officials involved at or with Grand Targhee Ski & Snowboard-sanctioned events at Grand Targhee Resort or other local venues.
- Supporting the Executive Director at events and fundraisers.
- Assist discipline managers in financial matters, billing, travel necessities, and budgeting.
- Contributing to the Executive Director’s multi-year strategic plan by establishing program costs and forecasting needs.
- Contribute and collaborate on assets for social media platforms.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competence in Google Workspace programs (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- A bachelor’s degree or five years of experience in a relevant field
- A background in outdoor programming, ski and snowboard education, or athletic youth development
- Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds
- Ability to navigate undulating terrain on skis or snowboard
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license through USSA Membership Services and complete Safe Sport annually
- Remote/In-person Hybrid: downtown Driggs Idaho Office and on snow at Grand Targhee Resort two to three days a week
Salary and Benefits:
- $52,000 yearly
