St. Lawrence University is currently seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant Coach for Nordic Skiing. This 9-month, Graduate Assistant position (August 15, 2015 – May 15, 2016) is targeted toward graduate students seeking a master’s degree. Remuneration includes a very competitive coaching stipend, student health insurance, and eligibility for tuition remission (6 graduate classes per year in the University’s graduate program, some meals are also included.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include assisting in team training, designing training plans, equipment preparation and management (i.e. waxing), training camp and race travel logistics along with other administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.
Secondary Duties: These can include but are not limited to a variety of athletic department duties such as game management, intramural program implementation, facility supervision, etc.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required and collegiate playing and/or coaching experience is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. A valid driver’s license is also required.
