National Nordic Foundation Allocates $154,280 to 2015 – 2016 Pillar Projects
Supported by the grassroots nordic skiing community, the National Nordic Foundation exists to support athletic excellence in developing U.S. nordic athletes. Through a variety of Pillar Projects, the NNF dispenses funding aimed at creating skiing opportunities, opportunities that might go unsupported if not for the community behind the NNF, “Bridging the funding gap between strong club programs and the World Cup circuit is such a valuable and necessary component for every nation….and the NNF is there for us in the U.S.” explained NNF Board member, Craig Ward. This year over $154,000 has been pledged to support skiing in the U.S. “We’ve had another strong Drive for 25,” described Dave Knoop, NNF Board Chair. “Each fundraising drive is different, but in the end, with the help of community events and longtime donors, we raised a large amount of money to support our mission.”
