It appears that even though Beckie Scott has not officially been given the Gold Medal that is rightfully hers, some of the mainstream media has overlooked the technicality by which Danilova still has a medal.
In an admittedly low-brow piece on espn.com called “The Year in Sex and Sport” Beckie is refered to as Olympic Gold Medalist.
The story says:
“Oh, Canada!
Beckie Scott wins Canada's first cross-country skiing gold medal ever. Until this feat, she was best known for posing au naturel, along with her teammates, for the 2001 Nordic Nudes calendar.”
We at FasterSkier don't know of anyone outside Russia who would bother to challenge the statement.
