The ASC Training Center is a non-profit organization located on Donner Summit, adjacent to Boreal Mountain Resort. ASCTC provides a variety of programs for 1500+ members. Activities include Junior Alpine, Snowboard, Nordic and Biathlon ski teams; recreational XC skiing and clinics on club trails; competitions and social events. ASCTC also operates a 25km Nordic Center open to the public.
Position: Junior Nordic Coach
Employer: Auburn Ski Club. Inc
Reports to: Nordic Program Director, Executive Director
Employee period: June- Mid November part-time Wed- Sun work week, average 25hr/week;
Mid-November to mid-April full-time Wed –Sun work week, avg. 35-40 a week
Compensation: DOE

Functions and Responsibilities:
Summer responsibilities (June-October):
Competition and Development Teams
Helping program director with communications, organizing, administration, or fundraisers
Winter Responsibilities (November-April):
Competition and Development Teams
Outreach programming for CNISSF schools (Nordic Varsity or Middle School Programming)
Assisting with Training Center operations
In addition to coaching duties, an applicant
1) Will be expected to effectively organize and communicate information and programming to athletes and their parents.
2) Participate in the operations of the Training Center which can include secondary duties outside the assigned department such as, daily operations, xc lessons and rentals, public relations, administration, recruitment efforts, supporting training center events, winter and summer maintenance, facility improvements, etc.
3) Assist with and participate in other job duties as may be assigned from time to time.
4) Training Center operations and maintenance work may be used to fill in shortages in Nordic program duties, additional operations and maintenance hours worked will be compensated at your normal hourly rate.
Qualifications:
Extensive proven technical knowledge and passion for Nordic racing.
US Ski and Snowboard Coaching Certification
Proven ability to positively inspire athletes of all ages and skill levels.
Ability to work as part of a team and be productive when unsupervised
Ability to ski and work safely in all snow surface conditions and terrain in harsh winter weather for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting up to 50lbs on and off skis
Proven organizational, communication and writing skills. Computer competency
Completion of a background screening
