March 19 (Bolton Valley, VT):Â U23 World Champion and former UVM standout, Kris Freeman, returns from the cross-country World Cup circuit to give a clinic and race in the Banknorth Eastern State Championships at Bolton Valley this weekend.

Freeman, who won the first U23 World Championship last year, and placed fourth in the 15km classic at the 2003 World Championships, returns to the courses where he trained when he was skiing for UVM. Friday, March 19th at 4pm, at the Bolton Valley Nordic Center, he will be giving a ski clinic. He will race in the Banknorth Eastern State Championship races – a 10km freestyle race and 2x1km relay on Saturday, and a 20km classic race on Sunday. Other racers competing include David Chamberlain (Bethel, ME), winner of the USSA Super Tour, The Rossignol Team – Eli Enman (Huntington, VT) and former Olympian, Marc Gilbertson (Hyde Park, VT), and three time Olympian and former Middlebury College xc running champion, Dorcas Wonsavage. The Banknorth ESC will determine the NENSA Masters, Club, and Eastern Cup Champions with prizes contributed by L.L. Bean.
