Who Gets The 2009 Worlds Will Be Decided In Miami June 4

The 16 member FIS Counsel will decide who gets the 2009 Nordic Worlds in Miami, Florida on June 4. The two candidates are Holmenkollen (Oslo), Norway and Liberec in the Czech Republic.

Norway has currently no voting member in the council while the Czech Republic has one. FIS president Gian-Franco Kasper can use his double-vote.

Each candidate gets a final 10 minutes in front of the council in the morning of the vote. This is usually an “all out” presentation where video, film, power-points or good old fashioned verbal argument can be used.

Liberec has previously lost to Oberstdorf, Germany for the 2005 Worlds and Sapporo, Japan for the 2007 Worlds.
