The sprint and 50-kilometer races are on the opposite side of the of Cross-Country skiing ski racing spectrum. Odd Bjorn Hjelmeset believes that he can possibly win both events at next year’s Oberstdorf Worlds.

<p>– I have a wife and kids and regardless of how you twist and turn it, it takes time and energy when I’m home.<br />
Odd-Bjorn is for that reason going to be better at adjusting his training to avoid that the “total load” doesn’t end up being too big.<br />
– It’s going to be less volume and more quality and at the same time more training at camps and less when I’m home.</p>
<p>Odd-Bjorn has trained a lot for many years and believes it’s time to make some adjustments.<br />
– I have a good base and believe that this is the right thing to do. It’s important to do what you believe in.</p>
<p>Can the somewhat unusual combination of 50-kilometer and sprint possibly be a “tough nut to crack” training vice?<br />
-I’m going to train for the fifty kilometer and include some sprint training. I believe a lot is done if I can simply maintain my speed.</p>
<p>Odd-Bjorn’s optimism in regards to the classic sprint at Worlds is largely due to the course profile. If the course remains as it was at the pre-Worlds, it will be very tough. This will according to Odd-Bjorn be to his advantage. </p>
