Vibeke Skofterud and Kine Beate Bjornas have been sent home from the Norwegian altitude camp in Italy.

Both of the girls came down with diarrhea and had to miss the pre-Olympic World Cup in Pragelato.

-Kine got it first. It lasted for 12 hours. She was living in the same room as Vibeke who then also got it, says head coach Svein Tore Samdal.

For Vibeke Skofterud the illness is most unfortunate since she hasn’t skied a race since the 14th of December.

-It is unlucky for Vibeke since she hasn’t raced in a while but it isn’t a disaster. Its better that it hit now and not two weeks later, says Samdal.

With Skofterud and Bjornas gone only Kristin Steira and Kristin Stemland are left on the women’s team. No other members of the Norwegian team were affected by the illness.
