The Burke Mountain Academy kicked off its Fall training camp a week ago in Sun Valley Idaho. The plan for the camp was to have a quality training block, taking advantage of the SVSEF facilities and surrounding hiking, biking, and roller-skiing trails.
While we were excited to find miles and miles of perfect rollerskiing and hiking, we weren’t expecting to find ourselves training on snow at the beginning of October! Yesterday morning we did an easy two hour classic ski on snow about 10 miles up the road from Sun Valley. We followed an old road up the valley and found some pretty fresh wolf tracks leading our way up the trail. We hear that they are grooming for skating somewhere nearby, so hopefully it will stay cold and we will continue to be able to take advantage of the early season tracks!
FasterSkier reader Jack Sibbich submitted the following photo and a link to the Sun Valley Snow Stake Cam so those of us roller skiing away can trak the amount of snow…
