If you saw any of last year’s Universal Sports coverage of the nordic world cup races then you know how great it was to see more than just a 30-second highlight.
Though their online content has greatly diminished this year, Universal Sports TV channel would like to be offered on DirecTV.
If you have DirecTV and you do want to watch Kikkan Randall, Tim Burke, or Bill Demong win that coveted Olympic medal, send an email request and hope for the best.

From what I saw on the Universal Sports website, they won’t be covering Nordic skiing for the Olympics anyway. They apparently will ONLY covering figure skating… like we won’t have enough coverage of figure skating from NBC! I was so dissappointed when I read that!

I could very well be wrong but it seems that the information on Faster Skier gives the impression that if you make the Universal Sports request, you’ll get it while the page on Universal Sports appears to be a grass roots effort to have DirectTV add it to their line up. Not a for-certain. ??

Tempo – You are right. I had misread the information given to me. Thanks for the correction.

I’d like universal sports to sink to the bottom of the ocean. No live streaming of XC or biathlon at vancouver? geo-blocks? have to have a paid cable subscription to see content?
It’s tough enough to follow XC and biathlon in the USA, let’s ask NBC to stop making it even more difficult.

OEB – Actually looks like cross country is getting a fair amount of coverage on NBC (http://www.nbcolympics.com/tv-listings/zone=CT/sport=CC/index.html). Not sure how much easier they can make it than putting it live on their broadcast network.
